Unlike most people who start learning the piano at an early age, Ye Ci’an (Candice) started her musical learning journey only after her PSLE at the late age of 12, after much bugging to her parents to let her learn the instrument.

As with all other instruments, learning the piano was both fun and challenging at the same time, as music is not always easy. However, persistence and her love for music kept her going. Candice went on to achieve merits and distinctions for most of her ABRSM graded practical and theory exams.

After completing her graded music examinations, Candice went on to pursue her music education further by obtaining an Associate Diploma in Recital in Solo Piano (ATCL) from Trinity College London, as well as an Associate Diploma in Music Pedagogy (Class II) from Seimpi School of Music. She intends to pursue her knowledge and skills further in the area of Piano Pedagogy. In between full-time teaching and reading up on music education books, she also attends seminars, workshops, masterclasses and concerts every now and then, to ensure continued learning about music and new teaching methods.

A dedicated and committed full-time piano teacher since 2004, Candice hopes to pass on her musical knowledge and passion to students who are enthusiastic and willing to learn, and show persistence in their musical learning journey, as music can be tough, as much as it is fun. She hopes to nurture and inspire her students through her patient, encouraging and resourceful ways of teaching.

Candice has since led many students to achieve merits and distinctions for both their practical and theory examinations.
